I was debating whether or not to make this post a video, and now unfortunately I don't have a choice. I burned my left hand, so now I have only my right one to type with, which makes things painfully slow. "Hot plate" is not just a clever name.
I apologize for the low volume and the tilted video, but I'm particularly inept with filming timelapses and my phone was not incredibly helpful with that fact.
(Also, did you know in Russia they wear engagement rings on their right hand? Me neither. Thank you, Viktor Nikiforov, for making this especially confusing for me).
Enjoy!
Edit: I fixed the video, but it can only be played here now- http://sendvid.com/a6upuh4y
It's not a virus, I promise!
Here's the finalized comic because the video is super low quality on Blogger, apparently.

ReplyDeleteTo answer your question, I honestly don't have a specific thing to gain inspiration to draw from. I guess it's just... the fact that I want to draw, I guess? I started drawing for myself and will continue drawing for myself, now for others (to an extent?). I also guess that I draw inspiration from other artists. I see their work and think, 'I want to draw as well as that!', and use them as my goal as I draw. Most of the time, though, I'm not really sure.
Anyway, how did you like making the comic? What struggles did you face, and what did you find easier?

Honestly, I can understand what you mean. However, when I see amazing artists I am simply filled with astonishment and rage. I want to draw like that. Perfect motivation, right?
I actually hate this comic. I hate what I've done with it. I brought my idea no justice. I resisted the urge to tear this up several times through the process. I was having a ridiculously hard time with drawing Yuuri, which made the whole process... depressing. The easiest part about it was inking, which is my favorite thing to do! I have a pretty steady hand, so inking is fairly easy...
Thanks for your comment!
This is absolutely stunning. The lines are so wonderful and defined. I am extremely impressed. My dad uses certain "apps" on his computer when he draws. Which ones do you use? Is there a style you prefer over others? I'm honestly so curious about others writing styles. What would you describe your style as?
ReplyDeletePaige, you're going to kill me. Thank you so much. I usually tend to use Photoshop, but the knock-off version. I'm cheap. There's also FireAlpaca, but I have no idea how to use it, so I just use PCC. I definitely have a more anime/"cartoonish" style to my art (mostly because I'm an animation nerd).
