To me, cooking is an art. Everyone can draw a painting but it's not always good. Just like art, cooking takes time and effort. It also takes a lot of patience, which I don't have. But once you take the time to put in all of your effort to perfect something, your patience and perseverance will reward you later. So in the book Nordstrom: Entertaining At Home Cookbook, I will learn to try the best I can to make a delicious meal and when I make mistakes, I will learn from them and keep moving on.

According to the Entertaining At Home Cookbook, "A special drink that your guests have never tried before helps break the ice among strangers. They tend to engage with one another with greater warmth and connectivity, making the event more fun from the start" (Clem & Northern 35). In other words, all good meals must start off with a drink to set the mood for the guests.

So in these photos, I am going to make a Mango Chill Smoothie made with orange juice, lime juice, frozen mangos, and mango sorbet. As reported by the Nordstrom Cookbook, "frozen fruit and ice help provide a texture base and a counterpoint to the density of the fruit" (Clem 35). Overall, frozen solids help create the thickness and texture of a smoothie.
In this recipe, I learned that "The order makes a difference in the final results" (Clem 35). Considering that the texture was consistent through out the drink, I think the reason that the frozen solids were last to be put in the blender so that the thickness can settle in the drink from the top to the bottom. In conclusion, putting things in a certain order can make a big difference. How do you structure and order things in order to get a result you want?
