Simple Soccer Tricks: The Shinny
The shinny is a trick that is easy to catch on to and something that doesn't take too much time to get a hold of. In this trick you are trapping the ball by using you r heel and your shin. So before you dive into the full trick, practice getting the feel of how you should trap the ball. According to juggler Sean D'Arcy, "The ball is held between the heel of your string foot and the shin of your weaker leg" (88).
After you have gotten that part down you can start. First juggle the ball or you can just spin the ball towards your body, throw it or juggle it almost waist high. Then you will move in position so the ball will hit you in the shin of your weaker leg. Take you heel that is in the air and smoothly press the ball into your shin. Sean D'Arcy says to not wear anything on your legs during this trick or else the ball will slip on that material.
Some of these tricks seem useless, can you still be successful even without knowing them?
